Traffic Education with Police ČR in Varnsdorf

Members of the Traffic Safety Research Team clarified the principles of safe driving and correct use of child retaining systems for children, teachers and parents.

In co-operation with the town of Varnsdorf, policemen from the district directorate of the Police of the Czech Republic in Děčín held a Traffic Education Day for children from local primary and nursery schools. It was untraditionally held not in school, but on the main square in Varnsdorf.

The idea came out of specialist co-operation between the Police of the Czech Republic and Škoda Auto’s Traffic Safety Research in an attempt to attractively promote road traffic safety to the public. In addition to policemen and the Škoda Auto team, BESIP and firemen also contributed to the presentation.

Children and experts from Škoda’s Traffic Safety Research tried the correct use of safety belts in a car and a selection of suitable child seats given their height and weight. Many children only use booster seats and try to travel as soon as possible without a child seat at all. Our experts clearly showed how a good child seat can protect relatively large children during a side impact. Attention was also paid to the need to use retaining systems on every journey.
